Community Energy: Empowering Members Through Community-Owned Power

Grand Canyon State Electric Cooperative Association Inc. is built by Arizona’s electric cooperatives and the communities they serve to champion, advance, and protect the voices and best interests of local rural Arizona communities. Because we answer to our member cooperatives—that are owned and run by people like you—rather than out-of-town shareholders, GCSECA and our electric cooperatives have a unique understanding of local needs. In fact, our leaders live in our local communities.
CommUnity Energy is an outreach initiative designed to further amplify the voices of our members and unify Arizona’s electric cooperatives and other like-minded public power providers across the state.
Amplifying community voices sets us apart from other energy providers. As electric cooperatives, we keep our members at the forefront of every decision. This often means that we work alongside other public power partners when advocating for issues that impact our rural communities.
Our members are the backbone of Arizona. Farmers, ranchers, and mining communities are just a few of those who are impacted by the direction of our electric cooperatives. By strengthening our partnerships with other public power providers that share common core values, the voices of our communities continue to be a leading force in advocating for reliable, affordable, and resilient energy.
Arizona’s electric cooperatives are unique. We are not-for-profit energy providers that reinvest any profits back into the communities we serve. CommUnity Energy strives to further highlight our unique differences from other energy providers in keeping energy reliable, affordable, safe, and sustainable, while also amplifying the voices of our member-owners.
By communicating the cooperative difference and uniting with our like-minded public power partners, Arizona’s electric cooperatives will further champion the voices and interests of our communities, members, and local economies.
