Donahue presented plaque
Jim Donahue, Grand Canyon State Electric Cooperative Association's director of communications and member services, was presented a plaque of appreciation by the NRECA Council of Rural Electric Cooperatives October 20, 2017. Donahue served on the council for more than a decade as one of two statewide association communicators.
The Council of Rural Electric Communicators (CREC) is comprised of electric co-op communicators from throughout the industry, including representatives from distribution cooperatives, generation and transmission cooperatives, statewide associations, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC), Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange and the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC). NRECA provides administrative support for the CREC.
The Council, in addition to providing advice to the NRECA communications functions, oversees the New Co-op Communicators Orientation program, the J.C. Brown CEO Communication Leadership Award, and the Spotlight on Excellence award program.
